“Let justice roll down like water … ” Amos 5:24
We participated in a very special worship service this morning. Our Hermannstadt church hosted the Romania stop of a tour down the Danube River celebrating a decade of the “Donau Friedenswelle” — “Danube Peace Wave”
The power of a mighty river and God’s call for peace and justice inspired the Lutheran churches along the Danube (in Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania) to join in a common effort to address violence and abuse at every level, in every way and to build up and bring peace to family, community and world.
Our church was full and included members of area congregations. We were led by pastors from the participating national churches. Our Bishop Reinhart Guib, delivered the message on the Isaiah 58 text. We also heard the Beatitudes from Matthew 5. It was an inspiring hour and vision. Above are a few photos.
