Thirty-five gathered for the December 13, 2009, Service of Lessons & Carols at the Evangelische Stadtpfarrkirche Hermanstadt (the Lutheran Church of Sibiu). Here is our note in the worship folder of the “International Ecumenical Worship Community of Sibiu”:
How good it has been for us to be here these past three months. We have been welcomed by the people of this beautiful land and inspired by their inner strength and determination to keep on keeping on as people of faith. We leave tomorrow with much to share with folks back home and lots more to see, hear and experience. The invitation from the Lutheran Church of Sibiu still stands and we will therefore return for two months in mid-March. Pastor Chris and Cheryl Quello come to Sibiu January 15 and will be here for one month. Please welcome them, work with them, teach them … as you have us.
We wish for you all the blessing of Advent and the Peace and Joy of the Christmas season. God be with you!
