1. Thanksgiving

A grand Sunday was enjoyed here.  The morning Gottesdienst (worship service) was a lively Thanksgiving Service with children processing with tree branches held high and led by Pastor Dörr.  The 30+ children sang all through the service in a beautifully decorated chancel. God’s use of trees to give air and shelter and our calling as stewards of creation was a point of emphasis.  The afternoon English worship was followed by a wonderful organ/brass concert with Psalms shared in Romanian, German and English.  It feels good to be here, walking, for a time, with a struggling church in a struggling country which can muster so many good things, from concerts to simple deeds for those in need.

Next Sunday the congregation will gather at the Hungarian Reformed Church for a joint Reformation Sunday service.  A Reformation Vespers Service in multiple languages is scheduled for Saturday evening.
